Please join us on Saturday, July 2nd from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Rye Town Museum for our new exhibit's opening reception.
Rye Family Connections gives observers glimpses into the life of Rye, primarily in the 19th century (including early 1600s to contemporary Rye), a period when our town grew from a small farming and fishing community into a bustling summer resort. Inspired by an 1897 Rye Signature Quilt & the "Old House Project", woven together are images and stories of "ancient family names", textiles, a tableaux of a Victorian living area and some "then and now."
Steve Roy will give a short demonstration and performance on the Rye violin, which he is currently making playable again.
